5 and under More than 100 years ago one of the original investors in The Sagamore, John Boulton Simpson of New York City, established the Lake George Chowder Party to herald the beginning of the summer season. Information by turn-of-the-century standards, the original Chowder Party had elaborate table settings, men attired in three-piece suits with a bottle of champagne placed before each diner. In reviving the tradition of the chowder party, we tip our hat to the past — without the formal attire — and invite you to join our chefs in creating individually prepared chowders with your choice of ingredients.
