Our Mission

To perpetuate and promote yachting on Lake George, to provide a common bond for sailors and their families, to sponsor and encourage racing, to encourage family participation in sailing, and to enjoy the beauty of Lake George.

Who are the Corinthians?

Since the early 1970s, the Lake George Corinthian Yacht Club has been a successful sailing, sailboat racing and social club operated by volunteers — people who love to sail and enjoy sharing their love of the sport. Whether you own your own boat, crew for a friend or just enjoy a day on the water, there’s a place for you in the Corinthians.

Most of our members sail keelboats in the 16- to 30-foot range, and require from two to five people as crew. Experienced or not, there’s always room for an extra hand on board.

We sponsor PHRF races on the lake each summer. PHRF is a national handicapping system that allows all sizes and types of boats to compete against each other.

2011 Racing Program

This year we are going to open the season with an informal Tune-up Race, open to all Lake George boats June 26th. This will be a great opportunity for new or inexperienced racers to try their skills in a laid-back format. Talk it up with friends who have been reluctant to race.

The regular season schedule will be made up of a five-race series that will include buoy races, an around the islands race and a race to Sabbath Day Point. And we'll also run two traditional specialty races — the Single-handed Race and the Women's Race. Please see the events calendar for dates.

Dues will be the same as last year. If you pay the $50 entry fee for the Ti Race no further dues for the Corinthians are necessary. If you do not enter the Ti Race dues for the Corinthian summer season will be $30. This also includes the steaks for the cook-out. There is no fee for the Tune-up Race.
