LGCYC Board Meeting

March 14, 2000

Members present: Commodore Spencer Raggio, Vice Commodore Herm Lintner, Treasurer Steve McClintic, Secretary Stacy McClintic, Race Committee Chair Chuck Thorne.

Called to order at 1900 at Starbucks in Saratoga Springs.

Spencer reviewed the Clubs inventory of T-shirts, burgees, etc. and stated we will offer the inventory for sale at the beginning of the season. Leftovers may be used for door prizes at club events.

No Treasurer's report was submitted. Spencer will follow-up with Dennis Hudson to obtain it.

Deb provided the Social Committee report. The opening event will be on June 11, 2000 at Camp Chingachgook. Deb is trying to get their "no alcohol" policy waived for this event. Deb will contact the Garrison about continuing to have our after-race parties there. Spencer suggested contacting Neptune's Pub as a potential alternative.

Herm reported that the Ti Race will have a third fleet this year. It will be a shorter course, Dome Island to Camp Chingachgook and back. Social events are being planned for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Ti Race Weekend. Donations for foot are being sought.

Spencer asked for comments/corrections for the LGCYC brochure for next week. Expected date of printing is April 1, 2000. Target mailing of brochures May 1, 2000 using the Corinthian, Yankee Yacht, and Harris Bay Yacht Club mailing lists.

The Mayor's Cup Regatta will be June 3, 2000. Sixty boats are expected to participate. There will be a table at Neptune's Pub with the LGCYC brochure and membershipship forms available.

The Women's Race and Single-Handed Race will be July 30, with a bbq at Yankee Boating Center.

The Race Committee will establish a Notice of Race for the Around the Islands Race, Women's Race, and Single-Handed Race.

A request was made to provide all articles for the newsletter to Madelyn by April 1 for May 1 publication.

Next meeting is set for April 11. Adjournment: 8:45 p.m.
