LGCYC Board Meeting

May 8, 2001

Review Agenda. Minutes: April Meeting Minutes not available for approval.

Finances
Treasurer's Report, Kim Andrews, written report distributed.

Social
Opening event set at Downtown Emporium in Glens Falls.

Membership
All members of the executive committee were encouraged to register as members.

Sailing Seminars
Report & follow up. Congratulations to Kim for a successful venture. Excellent classes and financially successful for the Club. For the US Sailing Instructor course, Rachel Miller is willing to come down.

TV Plan
Channel 6 will be filming at Saratoga between 5-7am. This will be organized by Spencer. We will bring down the four boats from Canada. The filming will take place Monday morning at 5 am at Saratoga Lake. A motion was made that Spencer Raggio be the “point person” for Corinthians with communications with Channel 6. It was a unanimous vote.

Brochure distribution
Herm reported for Buck. He is still interested. He is unable to take full responsibility. Between Kim and Bill Morris stated they could take responsibility for the database.

Bulletin Board
In progress. Looking good. Will be placed near Corinthian Corner at Yankee.

Race Committee
Trophies from Adirondack. Discussion included the type and number of trophies we would present this year. Our Race committee is planning some creative (less expensive) ideas for trophies this year.

Race Assignments are all set. Spencer put the assignments on line. It was suggested that, in addition, they send out post cards to remind people of their committee boat assignments.

Ti Race Report by Chuck Thorne
This month’s newsletter included the Notice of Race. Fundraising, budget coming along. Notice of Race, posters are being completed, T Shirts will be completed.
Events:
Friday night registration 7-9, BBQ at Corinthian Corner at Yankee.
Sunday awards 2 pm at Yankee.

Newsletter
New racing information will be included. The new 5 minute starting sequence.

Y-Knot
May 19, 20, 21 race clinic. They have 9 boats and 17 sailors registered. They will have a dinner Saturday night at the YMCA.

Cruising events & promotion
No report from Rich Hegney.

Tanzer 22 North Americans
Sept 7, 8, 9, 200.1 They will arrange dinner at Tired John’s for a buffet. Arrangements being made with the Capri for rooms and docking spaces.

Next meeting June 12th 6:30 Starbucks
