LGCYC Board Meeting
June 2, 2001

Review Minutes of May meeting. Minutes accepted as presented.
Finances
Treasury Report presented by Kim Andrews. Started month at $1640,
ended month with $1820.
Social Committee
Deb Katz reported on the season-opening party at the Downtown Emporium
in Glens Falls. Discussed plans for the Ti Race weekend. BBQ at
Yankees Corinthian Corner on Friday evening for registration
and Sunday at 2pm for awards ceremony. Following the Sunday races
we will meet at the Boathouse at 5pm. All members are invited, whether
they raced that day or not. We discussed the idea that Boathouse
is not accessible. Will check to see if we could use the lower decks
that may be accessible if arriving by boat.
Membership
All members of the executive committee were encouraged to register
as members. Herm will send out welcome letters to new members. He
will draft a message for the newsletter encouraging membership.
Kevin was hoping to get the Bulletin board up by Friday night and
have it set for the Ti Race weekend. Discussed need for organizing
the area prior to the weekend. Group will meet after the Wed night
race.
Many brochures have been distributed. Many were mailed. Several
will be available at Registration for the Ti Race.
Race Committee
Report by Bob Rippel. Race clinic was held on Saturday, June 9.
We are encouraging people to be aware of the committee boat assignments.
They are posted on the LGCYC web site.
Ti Race
Report by Chuck Thorne. Working very hard on all areas, publicity,
fundraising and race plans. Report on the WAMC 90.3 show on June
7 starring Chuck Thorne and Rebecca Stanley at 11:05 am; topics
are Ti Race, Y-Knot and Corinthians. Volunteers are needed for the
weekend. Food will be served at 7pm. Volunteers needed at 8:30 Saturday.
Discussion held regarding the handicapping procedures. Spencer has
it on a PC program. Discussed sailing instructions. We will race
the course that is published in the brochure. Still need a chase
boat. Reviewed the criteria for the trophy winners. After the short
race on Saturday, we will serve chips and beverages.
Newsletter
Report given by Herm. Bill is hoping to get the newsletter out shortly
after the Ti Race and publish the winners.
Y-Knot
Race clinic received excellent feedback. Next clinic is July 14.
Cruising events & promotion
Rich Hegney to organize and will encourage all boats to join and
sail.
Tanzer 22 North Americans
No report.
