I remember last year: Cold, rainy, windy. People on shore asking my wife why I was being so "silly" to be sailing out in those conditions, Single-Handed, rather than being inside, sitting around the fireplace at the Lake George Club. I remember calling Alfie and getting him out of the house and out in the elements with the rest of us. He didn't hesitate. I remember going over to Yankee and seeing Amir running around getting ready and Steve Jackson saying, "Well, of course we're racing!" That's all I needed to hear . . . and off we sailed. (We did end up sitting around the fireplace, but afterwards.)

WELL IT"S DIFFERENT THIS YEAR.
1st of all it's two weeks earlier. That's why there is such short notice. It came up on us pretty quick.
2nd, it's going to be a beautiful day with gentle winds. Perfect for the Womens Race too.

If you don't have a boat of your own, borrow a boat if you have to and put your teams together for the Women's Race, Sunday morning. This is a race open to all women that would like to sail on Lake George. Start area will be out in front of Yankee. Ivory Blue will be the committee boat on station.

After that race at 1:00PM is the Single-Handed Race, also RC'd by Ivory Blue. All boats illegible. Skippers just have to wear a life jacket and trail a long floating line behind their boat, for safety.

See you out there on Sunday!
