[LG-list] Wednesday Night Racing

It was an afternoon of storms and lots of rain but 40 brave Wednesday Night competitors (about 14 boats) made it over to the Lake George Club to wait out the delay in starting the race. There was no wind up until 6:38 when the wind filled in quick from the north and south with dark clouds and thunder rumbling over the mountains right over the top of us. RC-Bill Zautner watched the Doppler closely and made the call to abandon the race for safety concerns. 

One can't second guess the weather with that responsibility plus it was a perfect reason to start the After-Race gathering an hour early! Everyone was already there, the keg was tapped, and the LGC GM and chief anticipated the situation and had plenty of appetizers ready for the sailors. It turned out to be a great opportunity for all of the competitors to meet and discuss the results of the series and get to know the faces with the boats. It was a great function and I hope it continues at Carl R's following all of the Wednesday nights left in the series.

Although there was no race everyone who attended the party or who made the effort to race will receive a score of "SC". Don't look too deep into the Rules Book for that one. It stands for "Social Credit". I made that up and not sure how it will be used. For now, here are the season standings:
