[LG-list] Another beautiful night on Lake George

If you stayed away because of the forecast, you missed out on one of the nicest nights of the summer. We had the lake all to ourselves! We stayed warm and dry, and listened to the crew on Uncle Ludwig chant, SoCo and lime! They were in the lead at that point. 

Most boats motored or were towed out to the starting area. We waited to see if we would actually start a race in no wind, but the bonus was there was no rain to dampen our spirits! There was just enough wind though to convince Amir to start the sequence, to our surprise, and send us twice around in what turned out to be a 180 degree wind shift that picked up to about 6 knots from the south. At the pin White Cap and Catchin' J's "shot" out in front on the left but Crackerjack and Jag found the south breeze first out in the middle and caught up to round in a pack of about seven boats. While Stinger took a tight rounding at the first mark Spirit footed off and went wide around the pack under Jaded. On the next leeward rounding tight with Wild Thing, Spirit held the lead and sailed fast up the last beat to win the hour long race by two minutes. There was a lot of close racing with some tactical moves on the final upwind leg to allow for some position
