The 34th Annual Event hosted 12 boats at registration at the Lake George Club. With the absense of a committe boat driver Rik Alexanderson II, stepped in and set a twice-around I-course up to Cotton Point and down to Canoe Island. Sam Hoopes took over helm duties for Rik to keep Brass Ring in the race. Once on station the RC postponed quickly when the wind went from 5 to 15 with gusts to 20 and white caps across the lake. The J/24's switched down to jibs while others just held on during the 8 minute delay.

The Viper flipped once during the postponement and twice more after the start before retiring. Both Jako and Ivory Blue were given a very much appreciated REDRESS with a 5 minute reduction in their elasped time for assisting Dougall and Snowdon. It was quite the challenge with tight spinnaker reaches and upwind round-ups for some. Spirit changed back to his genoa on the final downwind leg and came within 6 seconds of finishing ahead of Joy but enough to beat Brass Ring by 2 seconds corrected. The last time we saw Kokopelli, the trimaran, James Looby was shaking out a reef in his main after the start! I figured he was out of it but even sailing solo he came back and beat the fleet by 10 minutes! http://www.lakegeorgeracing.com/results.aspx?series=41. After the awards ceremony James inquired about the history of the special trophy. It was a pleasure hearing Rik speak of his Grandfather and of his childhood on Lake George.

Thanks to everyone again who participated in this year's event.
