[LG-list] Bill Dutcher only one to finish Single handed Race

Well,   It was quite an adventure at this year's single handed race.  A micro-burst of wind gusting into the high 30's put us all to the test.  It was a scary time for all as our sails flogged uncontrollably and we floundered toward Long Island.   Sails were ripped and bottoms were scraped but Bill Dutcher was able to make the mark and finish the race.  The most exciting moment was when John Tarrant's son, sailing a laser, pitch poled on the downwind leg.  Nobody died! and only a few were wounded but we will all sail again!
