Every Wednesday they supply three pitchers of beer, chips and salsa to the weekly winners. J/24 Fleet 24 will host a mid-season cocktail party to announce current standings, open to all sailors and crew. The season awards party is held at Carl R’s after the last race of the season. Committee Boat ReminderYou'll need to pick up the official committee boat kit from Dave Dougall: along with the briefcase containing papers, race instructions, flags, buoys and other stuff, you also need to have proper ground tackle so that your boat does not drag when anchored. In the area that we sail in, typically the RC boat is anchored in approximately 75 feet of water. With a scope of 5 to 1, you should have about 375 feet of line. Even 3 to 1 on a light wind night means 225 feet. If anyone needs good ground tackle, Dave has 200 ft with ample chain and a 16 lb claw anchor all in a canvas bag available for the asking. Contact series organizer Dave Dougall at ddougall1@nycap.rr.com or 518-685-5045 (home) or 518-209-3684 (cell) for information. If you can’t honor your committee boat assignment find a replacement and/or contact Dave.
