The 35th Annual Lake George Ticonderoga Race

Sponsored by the Lake George Corinthian Yacht Club
Saturday, June 14, 2008

2008 UPDATE:

Bill Dutcher's J/22 Joy won in the Spinnaker fleet of the 35th Annual Lake George / Ticonderoga Race. Happy Days took the non-Spinnaker fleet, Revolution won the Sprint fleet, and Triceratops took the multi-hull fleet. Check out the complete results, and photos from the start by Trish McCluskey.

Open to all sailors on Lake George, the Lake George Ticonderoga Race consists of four fleets. A short Sprint Race, and three long-distance races. Any sailboat is welcome in the Sprint Race; see the Notice of Race for restrictions on boat eligibility for the longer races). All fleets are scored using the PHRF Time on Time scoring system.

Start time for all fleets is 9:30 am in front of Yankee Boating Center.

The Sprint Race (Blue Fleet) is a short race around Dome Island. Distance is approximately 9 miles.

The Multihull Race (Red Fleet) uses a government buoy at the north end of the lake as a turning mark for a distance of about 45 miles.

The Monohull Non-Spinnaker Race (Yellow Fleet) rounds Gull Island near Hague for a distance of about 35 miles.

The Monohull Spinnaker Race (Green Fleet) uses a government buoy at the north end of the lake as a turning mark for a distance of about 45 miles.

Awards are given in all fleets. The winning skipper in the Monohull Spinnaker (Green) Fleet is awarded the Brodie Cup, a perpetual trophy named in honor of Bob and Sheila Brodie of Yankee Boating Center, longtime supporters of the Corinthians and of sailing on Lake George.

The Ti Race is once again a benefit for the Y-Knot Sailing Program. So join us for a weekend of fun and camaraderie, and test your sailing skills in the only long-distance race on Lake George!
